Wood-fired pizza, steak tips, wings & fresh seafood specials — Taunton's classic sports bar since 2017.
Grove Street Tavern started as an idea batted around in early 2017 between Brian Levesque and Paul Martin — childhood friends from Silver City and members of Taunton High School's Class of 1987. What began as a conversation about investing in property turned into a plan to open a sports pub after the pair spotted the building at 53 Grove Street.
What followed was eight months of hands-on construction — work down to the studs, new insulation, new electrical, and a full bathroom renovation — with Paul handling most of the build while both men kept their full-time jobs, putting in four to five days a week on-site until the doors opened in the spring of 2017.
The building itself carries nearly 70 years of Taunton history, having operated as the King Philip Café in the 1950s and, since 1992, as The Billy Club before becoming Grove Street Tavern.
